In the spring of 1983, a choir group was born out of the desire of the year's university choir graduate, "We want to sing along with friends forever".
Several years later, our professor Mitsukazu Suwaki named us "Aeolian" in the hope that "a choir filled with a warm and beautiful sound like the Aeolian Harp by the god of the wind, Aiolos". We now became a choir welcoming members not only graduates but also from the general public.
In the 15th year since its founding, we welcomed Mr. Suwaki as Music Director and Conductor. For us, it was a joyful and precious experience to encounter new and rare works from Japan and abroad through his unique selection of music. Encountering wonderful songs, we have continued to sing with the desire to “sing” and “shine,” and thanks to all the support we have received, we are celebrating our 40th anniversary in 2023.
Currently, there are over 30 members aged from teens to 60s, and we gather from Hyogo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Wakayama. 2024 will see us welcome Mr. Masashi Kishimoto as our permanent conductor, and every day we feel the joy of singing again.
We will continue to sing with the aim of achieving higher quality harmony and with gratitude to those who support us.
